nice for the price October 26, 2009 Emmett Robichaux 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I read all the other reviews about how hard this was to put together. I had no such problem. Anyone with just a little common sense and a little mechanical ability should have it put together in about 5 minutes. I consider it a nice product for the price.
LANDSCAPING HELMET COMBO February 25, 2009 Michael D. Long (WISCONSIN, USA) 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
Makita Landscaping Combo Helmet with Orange Hard Hat, Face Screen & Earmuff #841001-A A GREAT SAFETY ADDITION TO YOUR EQUIPMENT AT A GREAT PRICE. I USE TO WEAR EAR PLUGS AND GLASSES AND IT WAS A PAIN TAKING THEM OUT AND PUTTING THEM BACK IN. THIS COMBO HELMET WORKS GREAT AND HAS MORE PROTECTION.
a little trouble staying on October 18, 2009 Kurt Westenbarger Helmet works well, screen is good and hearing protection adequate. The plastic webbing that attaches the helmet to your head occasionally slips from some of the slots that attach it to the helmet. A little duct tape solved the issue. Good value for the price.
Useable and useful, not as advertised? March 5, 2010 Dave Reiley (China) As far as I can tell, the item I was shipped was not manufactured by Makita. It arrived and I use it... and perhaps the company name on the paperwork is some sort of subsidiary, but I was sort of expecting something a bit more rugged feeling. All plastic all the time and not what I would call a precision design. Feels cheap, but so far, it does what it is supposed to do. Perhaps all protective helmet combo units of this type FEEL cheap. But perhaps not? This one does. That DOES MAKE IT LIGHT however. Perhaps that was the tradeoff...
Not typical Makita November 4, 2009 Edward G. Hurlburt (Lincolnville, ME United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The helmet works...mostly. The hearing protection doesn't fit well. I don't think it's really a Makita product. All the lables are "Tasco."
I wouldn't buy this again, but I use it regularly. If I buy another I would look for something built more rugged.
